Kite Body

You'll be prefolding the leading and trailing edges. When you assemble the kite put the fold on the top side to lessen air drag.

  • The front edges curve quickly so first put down a 2" long piece of basting tape and prefold.
  • Then undo the tape cover and fold the edge carefully so you have a nice curve there at 1/4 in wide or a little less.
  • Then double pre- fold the whole leading edge then sew it. Be careful at the corners to keep the curve in it.
  • You want to do as with the the other parts and measure to 39.25" then double fold the trailing edge and sew that up.

On the top side on the back edge I place a peice of 1 inch wide webbing about 12" long. This helps a whole bunch to prevent flutter in high wind gusts. To cut down on weight use a thinnish light piece of webbing!

  • Cut the webbing 13 " long and fold over 3/4" at the front end with the fold on top.
  • Mark center lines and put basting tape down the line.
  • Stick on your webbing then sew one middle stitch down the center.
