Peter Lynn Competition XR and XR+ Kite
Buggy
The
PL Competition XR Buggy is a favorite of buggy pilots everywhere.
It disassembles or or setups in a few minutes. When apart it can
easily be transported in a car trunk or back seat. The forward
seat position distributes weight on all three wheels for maximum
traction and allows for easy two wheeling and other tricks. Plastic
rims, sealed ball bearings, standard 16x4 tires, tough stainless
steel construction and a comfortable seat makes this a cruising
machine.
The Competition XR model was first introduced
in year 2002 and features larger diameter: side tubes, back axle,
down tube, foot pegs, and front fork. It also uses 15mm back axle
bolts and heavier front fork and down tube bolts. It can take
the punishment eXtReme riders dish out. Please note XR frame parts
are not compatible with the older standard Competition model.
The XR seat is comfortable and offers a better height adjustment
range and better back support than older seat types.

The newer Peter Lynn Competition XR+ buggy model
replaces the XR model and features heavier 20mm bolts and bearings
on the back axle and even beefier side rails. Complete for
$599 use online catalog to order.

HQ Beamer III
We have HQ Beamer III 2.0 and 3.0 available. The Beamer is a
great first power kite at an affordable price. This kite has good
low end power for buggy use on grass and sand. It has been updated
and improved over the years and the 2.0 size makes a great high
wind desert dry lake kite for advanced riders. The kite is billed
as a beginner kite but I feel it goes past that several degrees.
It's smooth flying with big pulling power at all angles. It's
a kite you can have a lot of fun just beach skidding with. The
kit comes complete with back pack bag, quad line set, steel foam
grip quad handles, kite safety wrist straps, ground stake, manual
and video CD. Beamer III 3.0 kit costs $249 and is pictured below.
The Beamer III 2.0 is a purple color and costs $209.

Peter Lynn Pepper II
The Peter Lynn Pepper II is billed as a beginner
to intermediate kite. However the 2.0 size is now my high wind
Ivanpah Dry Lake kite. I flew it everyday at NABX 2008 and it
really performs great. This kite isn't a fast high aspect kite.
What many riders want is a kite that is affordable, flys in high
winds, has a foil that is friendly in heavy gusts, won't collaspe
at the edge of the wind window and has a speed limit to it. The
Pepper II does all that and more. Dry lake buggying is often about
how not to go too fast and this kite helps you do just that. You
will feel like you are in control not the wind! The kit includes
back pack bag, ground stake, quad line set, lightweight aluminum
foam grip quad handles, kite safety wrist straps and instructions.
The Pepper II 3.0 is pictured below and costs $299. The 2.0 size
costs $240 and 4.0 costs $349.

HQ NPW5
The HQ NPW5 (Nasa Power Wing) is a ready to fly
kit with bag, quad handles, quad line set, video SVCD and instructions.
This is a large kite (4.8 sq meters) and though it can be flown
by a beginner you must respect it's power as it is not a kite
for sustained winds over 15mph. It can also be flown without lines
or on very short lines when used with a buggy, snow skis or roller
blades. Additionally it can be flown dual line mode, the instructions
note how to hook up lines for dual line control however we would
advise you purchase a pair of dual line handles for that. The
HQ HPW5 kit costs $140.

PKD Buster 4.0
The 4 sq meter PKD Buster (pdf)
is nicely priced at $299 and comes with carry bag, quad line
set and quad handles. The handles even have an adjustable built
in link line! The Buster is one heck of an all around traction
kite whether it be buggy, mountain board or snow kite skiing.
One of the neat features of this kite is one can adjust the AoA
(angle of attack) varying the power of the kite via a bridle adjustment.
It's modern shape U shape and thinnish wing cord gives it good
speed in the air yet it won't stall at the edge of the wind window.

Peter Lynn C-Quad
This quad line single skin kite has great traction power.
Flexible continuous leading edge and internal spars allow
kite to easily fold up and store in circular bag. See this
Windows Media 4M video
of us flying one. These single skin kites are great on beaches
because there are no cells to load up with sand, also they
dry quickly and can be flown even on rainy days. Kites come
with kite bag, prices do not include handles or line set.
C-Quad 2.2 - $141
C-Quad 3.2 - $190
C-Quad 4.2 - $242

Q-Power line is recommended over traditional line for kitesurfing

Kite
snow skiing is rapidly becoming the next big thing in the
US! Just find an open soccer field near you.

|
For recreational kite snow skiing the kite size needed
on any given day depends on wind speed and the size of
the skier. This table shows what a 175lbs man would use.
| Wind in mph |
Kite size |
| 5-15 |
7 to 4 sq meters |
| 10-20 |
4 to 3 sq meters |
| 15-25 |
3 to 2 sq meters |
Shorter skis around head height are better then long
downhill skis. Snowboards can be used but skis are ten
times easier and you can go up wind easily because you
have two long edges to use. To view some awesome kite
ski video download my favorite.
