News and information for TABA now on it's
new BLOG site.
TABA is one of the oldest windsurfing clubs in the USA
dating back to 1977. Initially the club was named Fleet
155, then the Black Swamp Boardsailers and finally the
Toledo Area Boardsailing Association. The club membership
selects candiates for Commodore, Vice-Commodore, Treasurer
and Secretary each fall at a general meeting.
Most of the club's water activites take place at MBSP(Maumee
Bay State Park) beach located just a few miles from
downtown Toledo. The park beach gives easy access to the
wide open waters and winds of Lake Erie. However just
a few hundred yards away is also a large inland lake that
is idea for learning or taking your first lesson on.

Sailing on Wednesday evening during the season at MBSP
has become a tradition and members make it a point to
show up regardless of wind conditions. Before the sun
sets members often meet for a few refreshments at a local
watering hole.
For several years now each Spring TABA has organized
and hosted the Toledo Windsurfing
Championships a major Midwest windsurfing regatta.
Also the last several spring season a couple groups have
rented house in Hatteras April though that is not an official
club event. Several members in the club are long time
racers, and currently there are several racing one design
Prodigy hulls.
